Technical advisor  (32-40 hours)

Bridge between research and practice

As a technical advisor, you translate the knowledge developed within RHP into practical advice for substrate producers and their raw material suppliers, both in the Netherlands and internationally. You will be on the road frequently: one moment you are at a peat bog in Estonia assessing which weeds are growing there, and the next you are discussing pH levels, nutrients or the composition of a mixture at a substrate producer. You will also occasionally visit growers to see how the substrate performs in practice. You will find yourself in unique locations, from the United States to India. As a welcome counterpart, you will also work regularly at our office in ’s‑Gravenzande (The Netherlands), where you can prepare improvement analyses, a presentation, or a training session. This variety makes the work diverse and enjoyable. With your expertise, you help producers optimise their processes and create high‑quality and sustainable products.

Are you entrepreneurial and interested in the latest developments in growing media and substrate raw materials? Do you enjoy travelling within the Netherlands and abroad, and do you have communication skills you like to use to help others move forward? Then we are looking for you! We are looking for someone with:

• HBO (higher professional education) level of thinking and working
• At least 5 years of work experience
• Knowledge of the horticulture and/or substrate sector
• Good command of Dutch and English
• Do you also have strong spoken and written French language skills? This is certainly an advantage
