For certified companies, three new research documents on oxygen levels in growing media have recently been published on My RHP in the folder RHP research reports.
Various chemical and biological processes continuously take place in growing media. Changes in chemical or biological compositions occur not only during the culture, but also during the storage of growing media. Which specific processes take place depends on several factors, such as fertilisation and the storage conditions of the substrate. One important factor that can drastically influence these processes is the presence or absence of oxygen.
In the second quarter of this year, three research documents were completed and are now available for certified companies:
This research report describes the decrease in oxygen levels and the chemical changes that take place in growing media within a sealed environment.
This technical note explains the methods and results of measurements of oxygen levels in big bales.
This technical note addresses how adding perforations to packaging affects the oxygen levels in growing media.
Certified companies can download the documents via My RHP in the RHP research reports folder and read all about the research, observations and conclusions.
